Small Business Friendly Councils Program

Developed by the NSW Small Business Commissioner, the Small Business Friendly Councils initiative provides NSW councils with information, workshops, networking opportunities and resources that help councils to support their local businesses to start and grow.

All councils in NSW have access to Small Business Friendly Councils resources and initiatives.

To find out more about this exciting initiative, download a fact sheet about Small Business Friendly Councils, or contact the NSW Small Business Commissioner at sbf.councils@smallbusiness.nsw.gov.au or 1300 795 534.

The NSW Small Business Commissioner is also partnering with Service NSW on the Easy to do Business initiative which is making it faster and easier for businesses to start up and grow. For more information download the fact sheet or go to www.service.nsw.gov.au/easy-do-business

Small Business Friendly Councils workshops

The NSW Small Business Commissioner is taking Small Business Friendly Councils on the road, with a series of regional workshops with council representatives taking place between March and June 2018. The workshops will include a mix of interesting guest speakers, informative sessions on topics of interest to your region, and focused roundtable discussions on key upcoming Small Business Friendly Councils projects.

NSW Small Business Commissioner is determined to make Small Business Friendly Councils as accessible to the local government sector as possible, and encourages councils to register staff members to workshops happening in their area.

Participation in the workshops is free but places are limited. Follow the links below to confirm your registration.

For more information on the workshops, contact Liz Gemes, Senior Advisor, Advocacy & Strategic Projects - liz.gemes@smallbusiness.nsw.gov.au or 8222 4817.
