The introduction of a policy requiring government agencies to pay outstanding invoices within 30 calendar days or pay penalty interest for late payment is assisting small businesses in NSW.
To find out what you need to do to benefit from the policy, read Key things you should know about the NSW Government's '30 Days to Pay' Policy. This document includes information about best-practice invoicing practices and a template best-practice invoice to help you do business with the NSW Government more efficiently.
Any disputes or complaints about a government agency not paying you within 30 days under the policy need to be raised with the government agency's accounts complaints officer in the first instance. If a solution cannot be found, please contact our office on 1300 795 534 or via firstname.lastname@example.org.
