Increased capacity for small hospitality businesses

Busy restaurant

Further easing of restrictions means that small hospitality businesses will soon be able to welcome more customers.

From 1 December, small indoor hospitality venues (up to 200 square metres) will be able to have one customer per two square metres (currently four square metres), allowing them to double their current capacity.

The prospect of increased foot traffic during what we hope will be a busy holiday season will be a welcome relief for hard-hit small cafes, restaurants and bars owners who have endured the brunt of the restrictions this year.

Businesses will still need to have a COVID Safe plan in place and a QR code sign-in system for customers.
