February update from the Commission
It has been an encouraging start to the year for NSW and small business
It has been an encouraging start to the year for NSW and small business with news of health restrictions easing on Friday 29 January for the Greater Sydney region (including Wollongong, Central Coast and Blue Mountains). Small businesses in the tourism, catering and hospitality sectors in the Greater Sydney region will certainly appreciate this announcement.
While restrictions may have eased, it's vital that all small businesses observe COVID Safe requirements and precautions as this will assist in avoiding future Public Health Orders and associated restrictions. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank small businesses across the state for their efforts in helping to restrict the spread of COVID-19.
In this month's newsletter, we provide information on how to deal with fake online reviews and a link to our new Retail Tenancy Guide, which provides valuable information on the questions to ask before signing a lease and on how to resolve potential disputes. We also talk to Mark McKenzie, Chair of the Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia, on what small business might expect in 2021.
